Workouts/Practical sessions

MOC Three Ring Circus - Practical (90 minutes)


Sports specific training at it’s finest! Join our ringleader Marjorie for this challenging three ring circuit workout. Marjorie has solved the problem for instructors and clubs/schools that have a limited amount of equipment. She will demonstrate how to teach three elements at a time for a fast paced, exciting Circuit Circus. This innovative program can be adapted for specific sports training such as basketball, hockey, and runners. MOC will show you all her tricks of the trade!

MOC Band Camp (90 minutes)

An innovative, fun and challenging class that incorporates tubing and bands and other creative ideas. Designed to train functional movement, dynamic flexibility, and create proprioception and postural awareness, this signature session will provide you with exercises that will train the body as a whole . Join Marjorie as she moves you through an invigorating workout that will leave you feeling strong, centered and moves ready to teach to your students.

MOC Bosu Technique Practical (90 minutes)

The MOC Bosu Technique program will challenge you to the core with dynamic cardiovascular intervals, stabilization conditioning exercises for ultimate core integration, innovative balance techniques and effective functional flexibility exercises. Marjorie’s exciting and unique signature Bosu class takes function to another level and inspires the mind/body connection while training the body to another level of peak performance.

E.A.T. (Extreme Athletic Training) -Practical (60-90 minutes)

Marjorie will put your fitness level to the test in this grueling workout. This challenging program emphasizes muscular strength, speed, power and agility. This extreme conditioning workout is designed for runners, cyclists, skaters, hockey players and recreational athletes who want to increase overall fitness. This class format incorporates intervals, high repetitions, speed bursts, and power drills. Participants should be ready to “Go for the Challenge” and push their bodies to the limit! Remember to EAT lots before this workout!

MOC Boot and Body Camp- Practical (90 minutes)

The Athletic Body and the Peaceful Mind combined in a millennium workout! The Boot training portion focuses on anaerobic sports and cardio conditioning skills; the Body concentrates on active flexibility, core training and balance techniques. The workout can be adapted to all levels but the goal for everyone is to transcend to another level of peak performance.

MOC Technique –Practical (75-90 minutes)

MOC Technique will add a new dimension to your fitness program while increasing your strength, flexibility, and the mind/body connection. Marjorie will demonstrate a number of techniques to give all fitness levels a physical and mental challenge! Her signature fitness class will incorporate the following elements: Functional Endurance, Standing Pilates Technique, Joint Range of Motion, Core Stabilization Strengthening, Balance and Mind/Body Stretch. The program is the perfect cross-training approach for individuals that require functional flexibility and strength in their training program.

Yoga Ball Training- Activity session (90 minutes)

Come experience yoga inspired postures and stretching techniques on the stability ball. Learn how to incorporate the ball to help assist in flexibility training and how to improve range of motion, core strength and stability. This integrated program can be used with all levels of clients and students.

MOC CardioRebound

Discover this low-impact, high results class. MOC CardioRebound works on a specialized trampoline with easy to follow, safe and effective dance and aerobic moves coordinated to music. While the workout comes from pushing down (resisting) the rebounding surface, the surface is soft, thus reducing injuries common to runners, athletes and the aging population. The class will help build bone and muscle density; improve coordination and balance; and eliminate toxins through lymph system stimulation. MOC’s innovative and multi-level program will also include a series of strength exercises as well as core and abdominal work.

MOC Moves

This MOC program is designed to be a total body conditioning workout that incorporates the latest techniques in resistance training. Marjorie’s focus is on core and functional strength to define and refine….. using Body Bars, Plyo-balls, Tubing and Bands (and other fun stuff!) MOC Moves uses multi- level instruction for everyone.
Personal Training Specialty Programs

Great Muscle Results (90 minutes)

Mobile muscle conditioning equipment (free weights, tubing, physio-ball, body-bars, plyoball, etc.) offer more variety design options and stabilizer muscle training benefits than do weight machines. This workshop will focus on safety, exercise specificity, progression of exercise intensity and a “back to basics” approach to resistance training. Expand your knowledge and repetoire for use with individual clients and group fitness classes. This workshop is geared for strength trainers and group exercise leaders working with all age groups and specific needs.

Running Clinic - Lecture and Practical Component

A lecture and optional 45-60 minute run! This three hour clinic will teach the basic fundamentals involved in running for recreation and competition. How to train for a 10 km road race, proper running technique, speed and interval training will be some of the topics discussed. Marjorie will put you through the paces, watching your style and giving corrections to improve your running performance and technique. (10 km personal record is 37.18)

Stretch for Success - Athletic Performance Stretch

Learn the importance of stretching safely to enhance physical performance as well as reduce mind and body stress. Marjorie will demonstrate the A-I (active-isolated) concept of stretching and strengthening. Stretch for Success is suitable for athletic teams, aerobic programs and sports specific training.

Ultimate Ball Training or FAB AB LAB Practical/Lecture (2 hours)

Incorporating Physio-ball or Resist-a-ball training into your group exercise and personal training programs is an effective method to develop dynamic stabilization and strength in the core of the body. The ball allows participants to position the body into a supported postural alignment that is not always possible on the floor. Marjorie will be demonstrating tons of exercises that can be adapted to all levels.

M.O.C. Bosu Technique-workshop (90 minutes)

The M.O.C. Bosu Technique program will challenge you to the core with dynamic cardiovascular intervals, stabilization conditioning exercises for ultimate core integration, innovative balance techniques and effective functional flexibility exercises. Reflection, Rejoice and Renew 2010 - Lecture (75-90 minutes)

Marjorie’s interactive session will reflect on issues that leaders often struggle with…. remembering to find time for our own needs, self criticism and being too caught up with what people think. Marjorie will discuss ways to find happiness and guidance in your fitness journey.

Let It Go! - Lecture (75-90 minutes)

All positive emotions from joy, pleasure, sense of purpose, compassion, creativity, frivolity- have been found to deliver a knockout punch to stress reactions. This lecture is guaranteed to RECHARGE YOUR POWERPAC! Marjorie will focus on ways we can channel our energy to educate, motivate, and relate to our participants. When Does the Fun Begin?- Lecture (90 minutes)

Teaching fitness classes should be fun! Listen to the inspiring techniques and stories Marjorie uses to motivate and stimulate instructors and participants. Let’s learn to laugh at ourselves and teach the adult learner effectively. A humorous and upbeat presentation!

There’s More To It Than a Step Touch- Lecture (90 minutes)

What makes a really good teacher? What qualities do successful leaders have in common? Marjorie will explore the power we possess as fitness instructors and trainers. We actually have the opportunity to create positive change in a person’s life. Marjorie will share some of her experiences as a school teacher, fitness instructor and coach for an entertaining presentation with a strong message.

Come experience Marjorie’s dynamic presentation that will take you on a personal discovery journey. She will look at the simple life rules we learned in kindergarten and get us to think like kids again. Kids live balance, passion and honesty. Our dilemma as fitness leaders is to walk the talk without stepping on the cracks. Learn ways to chill and be more caring about yourself and others.

Presentation 101 - Lecture (90 minutes)

How to become a workshop presenter. Marjorie will get you on the starting block and down the right track to another dimension in your fitness career. She will teach the tricks of the trade on how to develop your speaking, presentation and marketing skills. Appropriate for: fitness leaders, personal trainers and group exercise directors.

Fitness Leaders Always Smile; Energize Your Spirit- (90 minutes )

As fitness leaders, we make change with the people we impact. We encourage, we inspire and we give permission but we may neglect to fuel our own spirits. We overlook the value of taking care of our own physical, mental and emotional needs. Marjorie will explore ways in which we can achieve inner peace and
acceptance for longevity as role models in the fitness industry.

Keeping the Passion Alive- 90 minutes

Discover the passion that is in each one of you! Marjorie will take you on a personal journey to look inside She will inspire the group with her 6 C’s of leadership. As fitness professionals we can place unrealistic expectations on ourselves to be perfect. This perception of perfection can hinder our growth as leaders, educators and the “joy of living life to its’ fullest”. Running and Coaching workshops

Running Clinic - Lecture and Practical Component (2-3 hours)

Pre- conference session or conference
A lecture and optional 45-60 minute run! This three-hour clinic will teach the basic fundamentals involved in running for recreation and competition. How to train for a 10 km road race, proper running technique, speed and interval training will be some of the topics discussed. Marjorie will put you through the paces, watching your style and giving corrections to improve your running performance and technique. Marjorie is an elite runner and has coached track athletes and cross-country runners for over 15 years. (10 km. P.R. is 37.18 minutes)

Running for Joy over 40 - Lecture (90 minutes)*

Running has incredible impact! It has the unique ability to enhance the physical, emotional and mental well being of every age group. Marjorie’s training program for older men and women has a huge success rate. The workshop will explore the fundamentals associated with training older adults and provide you with a realistic and goal oriented program for those clients or groups that would like to begin running. Proper running technique, biomechanical implications and common concerns from this age group will be discussed.
*I CAN INCREASE THE DURATION OF THIS LECTURE AND INCLUDE A GROUP RUN.

Coaching for Success –Lecture (90 minutes)

With 20 years of coaching runners, team sport athletes and aerobic competitors, Marjorie will discuss the methodology involved in successful coaching. Effective coaches tend to follow similar principles to create champions. Use the same skills to coach your personal training clients and group exercisers to ultimate victory.

Presentation 201 –Lecture (90 minutes)

Presentation 201 is the next step in the journey to effective public speaking. Marjorie will get you on the starting block and down the right track to another dimension in your fitness career. She will teach the tricks of the trade on how to develop your speaking, presentation and marketing skills. Appropriate for fitness leaders, personal trainers, fitness directors and club managers.
Special Populations

Exercise for Exceptional Individuals; Developing programs for Celebral Palsy- Lecture (60-75 minutes)

Marjorie will review specific considerations, modifications and precautions when training or developing programs for individuals with Cerebral Palsy. She will teach you how to adapt common exercises to train the CP participant safely and effectively. The research study conducted at the University of Alberta, Dep. of Rehab. Medicine will be used in the discussion.

The Pregnant Athlete- Lecture (75-90 minutes)

Marjorie will review current pre and post natal exercise related research and application to higher level training. What is too much? Find out the most safe and effective resistance training exercises and how to modify during each trimester. Along with the physical changes many athletic woman find they experience many emotions during this time - and not just the hormones doing their thing!) Come on the journey and learn more about working with the pregnant athlete. Lecture (75-90 minutes)

Youth Programs

Screenagers and Teenagers –The Ultimate Fitness Party

Looking for interactive games, fitness circuits and team building drills for the 10-17 age group? Marjorie will provide you with tons of ideas to motivate tweens and teens and keep this group moving and improving. Learn the how-to and the benefits associated with developing a successful youth program. Party!

Saving Our Youth (Girls and Boys) -Lecture (75-90 minutes)

A must if you work with kids! Marjorie is frequently asked to speak to young people on self esteem, body image and adopting a moving mentality. Dance groups, junior and high schools, teen retreats, athletic teams and modeling agencies are some of the groups that have been involved. Marjorie will discuss the issues and concerns of this special population and provide you with tools to speak to our youth. Open discussion with a sample outline for your own presentation.

MOC Boot and Body Camp for Teens
Workshop and Activity session (90 minutes)

This workout is designed to motivate our teen population to move and improve with success. Marjorie will show you how to incorporate an athletic style program with high performance training techniques for our youth. (BOOT) The goal is to make them ALL believe in the athletic spirit! Drills, Skills and Lots of Thrills! The program will include a guided stretch and relaxation series for stress reduction.

Getting Stoked On Activity- Lecture (75-90 minutes)

This is Marjorie’s upbeat and energizing keynote presentation she has done for Schools, Community and Social Work Organizations, Go Girl events and Dance Groups. Her background in teaching and love for movement and inspiring others, makes this session powerful and truly motivating for youth. Marjorie fun and sincere approach, interactive ideas and knowledge working with kids is the change we need in the world of Youth Fitness. Be prepared for interaction, participation and inspiration!

Hey Kids Learn Your ABC’s- Agility, Balance and Coordination

Workshop and Activity Session- (90 minutes)

Marjorie has developed this action-packed, too fun approach to moving with the kids!!!! Start with the stability ball, add some partner work and team building drills, a few party games to achieve effective motor-skill development and health-related physical outcomes. Have a blast learning Marjorie’s techniques and get ready to inspire a kid’s fitness world!!!

MOC ActiveKids - Getting active in 30
Workshop for Teachers OR/Activity session for Kids

With the increasing number of schools in Canada mandating 30 minutes of daily physical education (DPA), Marjorie has developed an extensive and innovative program that she provides for the schools. Using her Activekids ToolKit and her creative lesson plans, she demonstrates to the teachers and students ways to include activity in the classroom, gym and outdoor environment. Amazing ideas for teachers, trainers and schools that are struggling with ways to motivate youth to move and improve!

Teen Dynamics: Skills, Drills, and Thrills – Workshop and activity (90 minutes)
