AFLCA EXERCISE THEORY - 24 hours

TIME: Friday 6-9 pm, Saturday & Sunday 8-6 pm

This informative certification program will give you a theoretical background in basic anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, nutrition, class organization, adult learning and safety principles. Please wear comfortable clothing for practical sessions and exercise demonstrations.

AFLCA RECERTIFICATION - 8 hours

DATE: October 27th, 2019 and December 1st, 2019
COST: $115.00 ($109.50+GST)
TIME: 8:30-5 pm
LOCATION: ATHX Performance Training Gym,18019 - 111 Ave NW

This 8-hour course provides current AFLCA leaders with the professional development requirement for recertification. It is a great alternative if you can’t fit scheduled conferences or workshops into your busy timetable. General topics covered (but not limited to) include: AFLCA policies, new/review information, adult education, resources awareness, etc. AFLCA Recertification one-day courses all include a hands-on practical component.

AFLCA GROUP EXERCISE FUNDAMENTALS - 12 hours

The Group Exercise Fundamentals with the Portable Equipment Designation is an excellent course designed to give you the essential elements required for teaching programs using free weights, bodybars, stability balls, tubing, bands, BOSU, steps, medicine balls, gliders, foam rollers etc. Practical work is included. Master class on both days. Please bring a towel and a change of workout wear.

AFLCA RESISTANCE TRAINING COURSE - 20 hours

The Resistance Training Course is suitable for upcoming instructors who want to gain more knowledge in the Strength/Weight Training and Personal Training areas. It is also an excellent course for fitness enthusiasts who want to learn proper technique and fundamentals for their own personal growth. Exercise wear is required.

AFLCA CYCLE DESIGNATION - 8 hours

LOCATION: YMCA Don Wheaton, 10211-102 Ave

COST: $135.00 ($128.75+GST)
TIME: 9-5 pm

An eight hour course covering topics specific to leading group exercise cycling classes. This practical based course will cover specific information for planning and developing recreational indoor cycling classes. Topics include: bike set-up and safety, peddling, cadence, posture, class structure and content; class components, music, leadership and choreography design; movement combinations, cardiovascular conditioning, instruction and cueing.
